CBD flower: what exactly is it?

CBD flower, also known as hemp flower, is a product that’s gained popularity among CBD and cannabis lovers. Although it looks and smells like cannabis, CBD flower is legal and non-intoxicating.

Many people love smoking CBD flower as their preferred method of ingesting CBD. It’s a fast way to get CBD into your system, and it can also be a fun recreational activity.

What is CBD flower?

CBD flower is the flowering part of a hemp plant. It’s also called the bud.

CBD flower looks, smells, and even tastes like a cannabis bud. It’s also used in the same way, as it can be smoked in a pipe, bong, or joint. It can also be used to make your own homemade edibles.
What’s the difference between CBD flower and cannabis?

Cannabis contains high levels of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). THC is what makes you feel intoxicated when you use cannabis.

CBD flower, on the other hand, is low in THC and high in CBD. Legally speaking, hemp plants contain 0.3% THC or less. Its low THC levels mean it can’t make you feel intoxicated. It also means it’s federally legal in the United States.

Additionally, THC is responsible for some of the less desirable effects of cannabis, including:
Dry mouth (also known as cottonmouth)
A spike in appetite (the munchies)
Increased anxiety

For this reason, CBD is a great alternative for people who like the act of smoking but dislike the side effects of cannabis.

Why smoke CBD flower?

If you want to consume CBD, smoking a high-CBD strain of flower is a great way to do so. Because it goes directly into your lungs, the CBD goes straight into your bloodstream and gets to work very fast.

If you consume CBD edibles, on the other hand, it takes a while to work as it needs to filter through your digestive system before it reaches your bloodstream.

Many people also enjoy using CBD flower recreationally. Although it can’t make you feel intoxicated, it can still be smoked socially. Connoisseurs might enjoy experimenting with different strains of CBD flower, as each strain has its own unique aroma and flavor.

How to use CBD flower

CBD flower can be used the same way that cannabis is used. Use a grinder to chop it up, and then pack it into a pipe or bong. You can also roll a CBD joint.

We’d advise smoking a small amount at a time in order to savor and truly enjoy the strain. After that, assess whether you’d like to indulge in a little more.

Although CBD is considered safe for human consumption, some people do experience mild side effects. These side effects can include fatigue, nausea, and changes in weight or appetite. For this reason, it’s wise to start with a small amount and gradually increase it if needed.

Lastly, although CBD flower is legal, it will look and smell like cannabis to others. If you live in an area where cannabis is illegal, or if you have nosy neighbors or strict police officers, keep that in mind and err on the side of caution.
